How To Overcome Insecurities

Deep dark forest

Below is a list of all of my insecurities and fears…

-I feel I’m not big enough

-I’m scared that people don’t like me

-I’m scared of being mediocre

-Sometimes I feel I’m not attractive

-I’m scared about what will happen if I quit my job to pursue a career transforming lives

-I feel people judge me

-I’m scared that I will struggle to succeed in life because of my skin colour

-I’m scared that people talk behind my back

-I’m scared that when I get married I won’t be able to stay faithful

-I’m scared of talking to a random person in case they don’t want to talk to me

-I’m scared of quitting my job then not being able to make enough money

-I’m scared that all this time and financial investment in UNIGAINS may not pay off, and I’m just wasting time

-I’m scared that I will regret not spending more time partying and having fun at a younger age

-I’m scared that I won’t have sex for a year

-I feel as though I am not hot enough to have a mega-hot girl

-I feel like sometimes I don’t have what it takes to be in the 1% of people who live amazing lives.

There you have it.

I am not perfect. These are the thoughts that run through my head every single day.

However, trying to hide them away in a deep dark corner in my brain is not going to do any good, it will just stay there and subconsciously take over my life like it has been for years.

If you want to develop yourself in life you have to learn to be honest and open with yourself, even if it means coming across vulnerable sometimes (such as I am now).

When you learn to be truly honest with yourself, you can start embracing and understanding your self-limiting beliefs, and finding ways to overcome them.

How to To Develop A Successful Mindset

minset for success

I had a thought recently which revolutionised my approach to life.

Are you ready for this? It’s deep…

Basically, we are nothing. We mean nothing. We have no significant impact on anything in the grand scheme if things.

Let’s face it, in 200 years no one is going to remember you. Eventually the human race is going to die out too, and life will go on.

Why are we here in the first place!? Why do we think? How are we thinking right now, what happened before the big bang? How on earth is life happening!?!? Who knows.

The point is this. You can do whatever you want with your life, because no one cares. Sure your parents may frown, but in 100 years no one will remember, or care. You have 100% control over how you want to live your life.

For some reason we are living and breathing and feel emotion. For some reason we have dreams and ambitions which we want to achieve, yet we don’t because we think we’ll be judged or will fail – but no one is going to care whether you had abs or not, got rejected by a girl, or failed trying to make a business when the human race doesn’t exist anymore… so you may as well give it a go anyway.

Make sure you live life to the fullest and do what you truly want to do internally. Do not let any external pressures dictate your life. Whenever you feel this pressure, just take a step back and think about how nothing really matters, so you may as well do what makes you happy.

How to accomplish goals

success

Most of us think the key to success is motivation – I used to think this, but now I disagree…

Motivation is what drives and inspires us. It often gives us a huge surge of willpower to achieve our goals. This is great.

However, motivation gives you a short-term spark for where you want to head, but it doesn’t give you the long-term willpower to apply it consistently, through good and bad times – this is why so many people will give up a diet as soon as the slightest thing goes wrong.

In my opinion, the key to success is discipline. This is the ability to consistently apply yourself even when you cannot be bothered and have no motivation to give you the willpower to do it.

So how do you develop discipline?

Discipline is built slowly and steadily – it is a habit.

Set yourself a small action which will help get you to your goal – this may be one set of pushups or eating an apple for example.

This goal should be so easy that it would be frankly embarrassing if you didn’t do – who can’t eat a goddamn apple a day!?

Now, this task should be achieved every single day no matter what. I don’t care if you have been out all day, are hungover, or got laid. I don’t care. Do it.

Every time you make a positive decision in a time of weakness you develop your character. It will stop making you a quitter and start making you a legend who achieves.

Slowly these patterns get wired into your brain so they don’t even take willpower anymore – I just write an article a day now. I just do it. Sometimes I want to, sometimes I don’t. Regardless I do it because I know that’s what I need to do to get to where my motivate self inspires me to be.

Motivation sets the direction you want to go. Your discipline walks the path.

Success is a habit – start rewiring your brain to be a legend, and not a little bitch.

Can You Gain Muscle With Calisthenics?

cool pullups

I have cancelled my gym membership. I run a fitness blog, yet currently I have no access to a gym.

Does this mean I’m giving up with fitness and making gains? No way (not about that mediocre lifestyle).

Instead, I have decided to shift my focus back to calisthenics – for now I have reached my life goal of deadlifting 5 plates (220kg), and honestly I currently do not have much motivation to pursue anything else gym-wise. Calisthenics opens up a new set of challenges for me to become an absolute beast with my body.

Now a lot of you are probably thinking how on Earth I am going to build muscle – you need weights to build muscle, right? No, and let me explain why:

Your muscles adapt to stress. It does not matter the source of the stress – whether from weights or bodyweight, as long as you put a high enough intensity of stress on your muscles they will adapt and grow.

The second question I imagine you have is that if you can already do more than 20 pushups it gets pointless as it becomes endurance – that is true… but can you do a one-arm pushup, muscle-up, or human flag?

I can deadlift 220kg, yet cannot even do 4 muscle-ups. This just goes to show how calisthenics can stack up against weights.

So yeah, time to turn from gym beast to bodyweight beast!

By the way, this does not mean I will never return to going to the gym… I still absolutely love it and fully intend to hit that 140kg bench press!

Share this post if you want me to talk about some bodyweight progressions next!
